Commencement speech

Meg
I think the topic of her speech was good, it explained how she made so many good friends and INTI and everything they have done for her. However, though she has very good voice projection, I thought she was shouting a little. Maybe she got really excited?? Haha..and timing, although I enjoyed and was very interested with the rest of her speech, she got a little carried away with the time limit. Maybe before presenting your speech, time yourself when you practice so you can keep your speech in time.

Michael
I personally think that Micheal is a good speaker although he may not say very much in class. His speech was entertaining, funny and he always has the ability to capture the audience's attention when he presents a speech. Keep it up!

Chee Hui
So far I've seen, throughout the semester I think that Chee Hui has made a vast improvement in terms of speaking and overcoming his stage fright. Congrats and keep up the good work!

Melissa
I thought her speech was very touching and it celebrates her friendship with Tammy. I thought she was actually going to cry! Nonetheless, I thought that she had chosen a good topic but maybe next time insert a little bit more vocal innuendos.

Congrats everyone! We have "graduated"! (:

Meg's feedback on GRADUATION DAY!!!

Hello there everyone!!

Amy
Hi ! I think Amy you did way better in your impromptu speech than your commencement speech, it because you were more focus. I think the mentos story does not always work. It was bit too short and lack of information. I think you could have added more spice to it. You could have used your cuteness to pull it through. Hehe. But you have improved a lot from the first speech. :)

Tammy

Hey there! I feel you were talking out from your heart .you have good voice projection and sweet. You should maintain the good job. I feel you could have added more point and talk bit on your memory book topic and why you choose it. Your outfit goes really well with the speech. Good Job!! :0

Leena
HOLLA! You were loud clear and focused on what you have to say for the day. Between I think besides sharing your experience and personal story. You could have talk more on your memory book and why you choose the incidents as a memorable memory. It was lively because you were clear and loud. Nice speech. :)

Sincerely

Commencement Speech

Hi everyone!!!!!!

Last week was our last presentation for the semester. *cries*
To summarize everything, most of us kind of made the speech informal like we started talking about what we did and thanking everyone. It is probably because of the presence of the judges, AUDIENCES and pressure! Haha. AND now we know who to pick to represent everyone during graduation day! Thanks to Miss Cheryl!

No doubt ANGELINE and SHARMILA did very well in their speech in terms of content and they ended their speeches with a very nice quote for themselves. Angeline seemed quite nervous though. Don't worry Angeline, I was far worse! NYAHAHAHA.

Esther was the most ferocious time keeper ever! But she was just doing her job. To those who was stopped by her, I think the best way to improve is to time yourself before making a speech! =)

Apart from that, Jacky and Melvin kind of forgotten the "rules of presenting" which is not to put your hands on anything in front of you! Namely the podium (if I have not mistaken it is called as that). But their speech was very laid back and natural. Could have improved on vocal varieties! =)

That's all for our very last presentation feedback from me!!!

Cheers!

Laura Comments On the Commencement Speech

We had done our commencement speech last Tuesday. Most of the feedbacks from the judges and lecturers are saying that we did not complete the objective of commencement speech as we forgot to include the planning for our future as the conclusion.

I found that most of us only focused on telling the story that happened during our college life. I admit that I am one of them. However, I believe that some of us planned to talk about our future but we were too nervous during the speech and had just skipped that part.

Ann Nie's speech had impressed me the most by telling us how she improved herself throughout the college life. I think that she was very brave because she used her weakness which is the language barrier as her topic and shared this with all the audiences include the judges.

Actually I faced the same situation as Ann Nie. When I first came to this college and entered the first class, the first classmate I met was Jasmine and I think most of us know that she is a so called 'Banana'. She can speak extremely good English but her Mandarin is poor to the max.(Sorry ya Jasmine ;-D)

So when Ann Nie gave her speech, I can totally understand her feeling and I admired that she had the encourage to talk about this in front of so many people.

Last but not least, I want to tell that this subject does help me a lot because it teaches me to talk bravely in front of people. Miss Cheryl had gave us a lot of chances to train ourselves in speaking and giving speech or presentation.

You did very well, Ann Nie=) Let's improve ourselves together!!

Little dumpload.

Impromptu Speech

Amy's topic was to tell a story that involved a fish, a helmet and John Travolta. What a story it was! I think it could have gone a hundred different ways, but the fact that Amy even acted it out was very sporting of her!

It was a little tough for her though, thanks to the too-short prep time of less than a minute once you get over the shock of your topic and finally get down to thinking. But all the same, I think she could have done better if she maybe popped a mentos and started creating a longer story. Maybe by involving several classmates too.

But anyway, good try, Amy!

Commencement Speech

I think Ann Nie's commencement speech was the most inspiring one. I could really feel her struggles and how much confidence she's gained and even though I barely know her, I couldn't help but feel so proud of her! Like wow! She's blossomed into one beautiful flower! ...or something like that lah, you get what I mean?

Her timing was really good too. All in all, it was really impressive! I certainly wish I could have done as well. =P GREAT JOB, GIRL!

How to improve? Maybe use more stage space? Walk around, be a bit more drama-rama with your gestures since you've got so much space onstage anyway? Not to sure. But I think it's important to not grasp the microphone with both your hands constantly. Ann Nie didn't do that per se, but still, it personally reminds me of a praying gesture, so cut down on that and gesture more.

On a side note, congratulations everyone on "graduating"!
