My speech's title was Violent Video Games Causes Teenagers To Be More Aggressive. I am pretty sure everyone in class noticed the fact that i was not breathing at all while i was talking. I actually had to stop a couple of times in between to breathe and try not faint there and then. My gestures, body language and eye contact was really terrible and that affected my marks so terribly. I really have no idea why did i hold my breath while i was giving my speech. The thing is, i practiced my speech beforehand so many times at home and I DID THE SAME THING AT HOME. Presentation Skills has to be the most simplest class so far and im doing so terribly! I have always had this stage fright problem.Always. Until now i have no idea how am i supposed to calm down.
From the moment miss called up my name to the point where i walked back to my seat, i was a total nervous wreck. I think the reason why i didn't maintain much eye contact at all with my audience was because i don't like getting all that attention. Everyone is staring at you wide eyes, waiting for you to say your words, scrutinizing your EVERY move. The fact that the whole class will be looking at me scared the crap out of me.
Yes, i can tell people off when i get pissed, i.e - when group assignments are not being done properly and people are taking advantage of me. That is not nerve wrecking because its just one to one AND i would have to be angry at that moment. Not just me alone talking to 30 other people. It is very different from going up in front of 30 people and giving your speech.
My marks would have been a tad bit better if i moved around the room a bit and looked at my audiences. The only person i remember looking at was Ms. Cheryl, Adrian and Thina. I think i also paced back and forth a bit? Which is bad. I feel content wise (based on my marks), i did okay. I did do my research because i knew that i could get that one thing right. If given the chance, i would re-do my speech if i have conquered my stage fright and also figured out how to breath normally while giving my speech. I know what i am doing wrong but i don't have a clue how to get over it. The first time we had to go up and give a speech (the one where we had to choose an item and relate ti to ourselves), i couldn't even finish the speech AND i was in the verge of tears when i sat back! haha. yes, i am THAT terrified of speaking in front of a crowd, even if the audience consists of people who i meet often.
Honestly, i really don't think i have improved much but that is to be blamed on me myself, not the lecturer. Like i said earlier, i need to figure out how to get over this stage fright then things should pick up from there. Everyone has stage fright, but everyone has it on a different amount.

Survey Discussion : Violent Video Games Causes Teenagers To Be More Aggressive
For my persuasive speech, I chose the topic ‘Video Games Cause Teenagers To Be More Aggressive’. Some people tend to think that video games can help improve alertness and coordination. Also, some feel that there are no effects whatsoever. But what most people aren’t aware of is that video games can cause teenagers to behave aggressively in real life situations and there are quite a number of incidents that prove the fact that video games does in fact cause teenagers to be more aggressive.
As expected, the males are the ones who played violent games such as Grand Theft Auto, Bio Shock, F.E.A.R and so on. For my survey, I wanted to find out if my classmates are aware that video games can cause aggressiveness in teenagers and do they agree with it. Majority of them agreed that teenagers who play violent video games can be aggressive. Even those who played violent games like Grand Theft Auto, Doom and so on, agreed too. According to the answers, some said that players tend to express their frustration when they lose a game by being aggressive towards others. But when it came to the question where I asked do they think that playing video games can help stimulate the brain’s development. The amount of students who agreed and disagreed were quite the similar amount. The ones who said it does stimulate brain development also added that playing the video games can help one increase their concentration level and their alertness. One student also said by playing these kind of games in makes the players to think critically.
All of them agreed that parents should monitor the number of hours their children spend playing video games. Some also said that parents should do more than just monitoring the hours to make sure their children don’t try to imitate exactly what they do in those violent video games.
For my last question, I asked if it is healthy for teenagers to play violent video games every day and everyone answered no. Most of them had the same opinion on teenganers who play violent video games every day; they’ll get hooked to the game and that will lead to the teenager developing aggressive behavior. Some also said that when teenagers play these games on a daily basis, they could develop the mindset that being violent is acceptable since they are doing it every day and it becomes normal to the player.
Based on the survey that I carried out among my Presentation Skills classmates, I can see that although some do agree that playing too much of violent video games can cause aggressiveness in teenager, many of them thought that playing video games can stimulate a player’s brain development. Based on my research, yes, playing video games can cause a player to increase their alertness and concentration level, but it really depends on what type of game are they playing. Playing violent video games definitely isn’t going to help anything but cause a teenager to be more aggressive. Games like Guitar Hero can help improve alertness, increase the concentration level and also make their coordination better, but not by playing games like DOOM, ManHunt, and F.E.A.R.

Comment on Thina's best moment speech
I thought his speech was really entertaining and he managed to get the whole class's attention. all of them were dying to know who was that girl who has 'the priceless smile' and the ' glow in her eyes '. i loved the element of suspense too, it gave that oopmh to his speech. i feel that he has more confidence now compared to the earlier days in this class.
i would have liked the speech more if he explain more about the best moment because like miss said, most of us took time to get to the best moment part.
i cant wait for more speech thina! i've already heard rumors about what the topic could be! :P

Comment on Sarah's Award Speech
Sarah won the Miss Control Freak award.
She is naturally a quiet and shy girl, so i was really surprised when came up in front of the whole class and played the 'Ms.Control Freak' character. Because she is a soft spoken person, its hard for the ones sitting at the back of the class to hear what she says. Her expressions are pretty animated as well, she just needs to stay calm. I really love her expressions! so, sarah! what you need to do is speak louder & be a bit more calm :)

Raj's Transitional Speech
Raj is naturally a funny guy, so i think he doesn't have to put any effort to make the whole class laugh. When Raj got the cat with a watermelon helmet on, i was really curious on what he's going to say. He really did pull it of well. I feel that the audience would genuinely want to hear what he has to say knowing whatever that comes out of this guy's mouth will make them laugh. He isn't shy going up in front of the class and talking. He does seem confident. I wish all of us could be as spontaneous as he is! wouldn't that be sooo much easier?

Comment on Hanz
Hanz talked about her Bangle and how it related to herself.
In my opinion, the way she was able to relate her personality with the bangle was very creative. She said she is strong headed ; the bangle is very hard, she may not be very girlie; the bangle bangle has flowers on it, but it is black.
Overall, she seemed confident although she kept glancing towards the floor quite a number of times. I think if she feels more comfortable standing in front of the class, she'd be able to overcome the nerves.
