Review Speech

Review of speech of class mates,

• Weng Loong - Weng Loong's speech is about power of the media and how Hollywood changes the lifestyle of the society. His Speech is regarding the influences of the hollywood how they portray the people in film on what is hot and what is not. People tend to conform to the media as it is one of the most influential case media scenario. Weng Loong speech was calm and steady and I find him quite smooth on his flow of speech. Dressed well too during the speech. Also has strong statement of his points in the speech.
• Syiaw Suang- Syiaw Suang's speech is regarding the online news paper and the traditional newspaper where she supports online newspaper is better than the traditional type. Her way of stating her points has strong emphasis in it and a smooth flow. Also without the use of cue cards during her speech is absolute she knows 360 degrees of her topic. Surprisingly she had a different accent which really I was shock to see a different person where she can really immerge herself into a different character.
• Cecilia - Cecilia's speech was of the language that English Should be the official medium of teaching in Malaysia. Cecilia's content of her speech is absolute strong. She has a nice flow in her speech. However, there is a small flaw to the speech she plays too much with her hair :D. Other than that, she did a good job on the speech in terms of flow, content, emphasis of statement.
• Mindy - Mindy's speech was of that blackberry : the catalyst to Conformity. During her speech first thing that could be felt was her character, she used the emotional appeal towards the audience which really could be felt head on during she presented. There was a certain anger , sadness and loneliness during her speech which really did played a major role in her emphasis of statement. Personally i also agree that Blackberry is a catalyst to conformity, S*** i'm persuaded. :S p.s: cant afford Blackberry one of the reason :D
• Jia Xin- Jia Xin's speech is about the Blogs am not mistaken which they have lost their purposes and turned into a place to earn money and become a place for advertisers to take advantage on. She had a good flow during her speech and strong emphasis on her statements. At points she felt a little unsure of her points, however good usage of cue cards i'm sure helped her make her points clear. That's good, because it allows no pausing for an awkward moment and also a disrupted flow in her speech. Interesting topic i suppose because is true blogs are suppose place to be a place to share a person's feelings with other people or their life experiences. Instead advertising companies take advantage of this and place their advertisements there to get attention or awareness and earn money from it.

Internet: The Monopoly Of Human's Life

Internet has change it way around us for the past couple of years. Especially us Malaysian, who depends lots of our stuff online such as Banking, shopping, education, payment, and etc. We all have forgotten who we are suppose to be before the existence of the internet around us and we tend to be very much dependent towards the internet. For instance, assignments, we all do it all last minute cause we know there's the help of the internet to allow us to do it last minute are we abusing the convenience the internet has provided us? Even for work, everything is moving to online nowadays, yes it does provide a certain convenience and comfort to our working ways in this generation but again if one day the internet decides to break down on us due to a massive virus spreading through the internet, or the world internet is being hack, the lives we so use to such as entertainment which is done through internet, work, assignments, payment, shopping all from the comfort of our desk all will be gone. Thus will the human life ends and everyone starts to become lifeless? without excitement? all this still are able to achieve even without the help of internet. We must learn how to balance and structure our lives without depending too much on a certain something, a media or application to do our stuff. The convenience there are just to allow us to do work more efficiently and not abusing the given comfort and convenience provided by the internet. Not saying internet is a bad thing but let just not become too dependent of this media as one day it could probably destroy us and we're not able to go back to how we use to be before the existence of internet. Let us use the internet smartly. Thus this is a simple summary of the main points consisted in the persuasive speech i'm going to deliver.
