Topic : Wikipedia: The Spread of Inaccurate Knowledge
All of us should know the existence of Wikipedia. To give a head start -a simple one- Wikipedia is basically a free online encyclopedia, which is produced voluntarily by people all over the world. It first made it's existence on the website in 2001, founded by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger.
There had been a lot of debates on whether this free open-access website is giving out credible information, despite the fact that anyone can actually edit and reedit the articles in the website without any limitations. However, although this is a well-known fact by all internet users, Wikipedia still continue to grows in its importance and size. Not only that, this free online encyclopedia had been developed into multiple languages websites all over the world and it's still being used by everyone. Have you ever wonder why do people still use this website although they know that it can be edited by anyone?
I will be going against the topic. Basically, I will be supporting that Wikipedia is actually a credible source. Of course, I will be looking on the way this website actually works and provide data and research base on the opinions of the others. I will also find evidence to prove that the information on the website is actually credible and can be used in gaining or in expanding the knowledge without being mislead.
