Su Ann: WALKING A THIN LINE: THE MEDIA, BODY IMAGE, AND EATING DISORDERS

oh my god, i'm so stupid -- all these while, i've been gripping about how i never received my invitation for this blog ... and about three minutes ago i realized all my blog invitations have gone to my e-mail's spam section. totally pissing off!

sorry for the absence!

anyways, quick post --

for the second assignment, Persuasive Speech, my title is:

"WALKING A THIN LINE:
THE MEDIA, BODY IMAGE, AND EATING DISORDERS".

here's the survey!

1. Do you think the media in general (in advertisements, tv series, movies, music videos etc) has a twisted idea of what is beautiful? For example, we are bombarded with the notion that Skinny, Tall, Fair, etc is beautiful.

2. Do you feel pressured to conform to the media & as a result, the society's perception of what is beautiful? How, and in what ways?

3. Are you happy with your body? If no, what would you change about yourself physically?

4. What do you think about eating disorders? (Awareness, Knowledge, Personal Experience, etc.)

5. How much do you believe that the rise in the disease is caused by the pressure to conform to the media's unrealistic expectations of beauty?

do answer if you have the time.

thank you all!
