Good afternoon to my beloved lecturer, Ms. Cheryl and my fellow classmates. Today, I would like to present my interpretive speech with the title of “Roller Coaster”. Before I start my speech, I would love to ask you guys, do you guys dare to take a ride on roller coaster? Well, for me, I dare because I think that it was awesome but at the meanwhile I also feel afraid because it might be a dangerous game.
As we know, there is a high and low threshold when taking a ride on roller coaster. When the roller coaster start moving up to the track, some people tend to feel curious about what will be happen after it starting to move down on the track. Some of them will shout out loudly, some will be keep quiet because of too nervous and some even will cry because it is too scary. After passing all those thresholds, people will feel relax and the pressure has finally released out.
Based on my personal opinion, roller coaster is just same as the path of our life. In life, we face a lot of things regardless of sadness and happiness. The high and low thresholds is actually refers to the sadness and happiness in the life. It symbolizes the difficulties and amazing scenes that we face in life. Not everyone dare to sit roller coaster just same as those people not brave enough to face all things in life and they will be choose to escape from it. When there are some troubles which happen in their life, they do not take the opportunity to find the solution to solve it. They afraid of facing those problems and will try to run away from those matters. On the other side, some of them very enjoying in facing the challenges. It is because they think that they will find out more new things and get to improve themselves in life. They can’t wait to reach the highest point of the roller coaster because it actually brings excitement to them. They enjoy the excitement when the roller coaster comes down from the highest threshold to the lowest threshold with a very fast speed. In addition, some of the people will scare the moment when reaching at the highest point. They will feel afraid and worry about the obstacles they going to face in front of them.
There are many types of roller coaster such as four peoples in a ride or one people in a ride. It actually refers to human will facing all those problems in life alone or with a group of peoples. Some people are preferred to face it alone because they believe that they can be independent and do not need helps from peoples. But, some of them will be more prefer to work in a group of people because they manage to share ideas and come out with more critical thinking. For those who face with a group of people, they get advices, helps and cooperation from each other can perform well in life. The whole track of the roller coaster consists of many turning points but there’s only one big turning point on the highest stage. This highest point is just like the biggest turning point in the path of our life. After passed through the big turning point, it may cause the changes of life. For instance, if a person is struggling with death, this person is actually will realize a lot of things during this period. At the moment this is actually his turning point in life and the view on everything to this person are differently.
Apart from this, there are a lot of different faces with different reaction while riding the roller coaster such as excited, scare, happy, enjoy and some even cry out due to the scariness of the roller coaster speed. At this point, we can clearly see that people tend to face things with many different ways either in positive or negative in their life. Everything happens for reasons. Think out of the box. In our life, all depends on how we make our stand in it and how we take our view on it. Some people do not have the guts to take the ride of roller coaster and they even prefer standing down there to see the others playing with it. They have not make their first try and started to build up their own judgment. It just like for those people who have never try a ride on roller coaster, they will always say that they can’t play with it because it’s just too scary. But actually, we need to take our first try and take the move in everything because we might discover out many things in the path of life. At the meanwhile, if we always do not have the courage to take the first step, we might not know there are actually a lot of different things outside there. Hence, our life will be just like living in the small box which can’t see the outside world.
The roller coaster simply stands for the ups and downs that peoples’ life present. The ride can be fun, it can be out-of-control and even be a frightening experiences. You may see some parts of your life are lively, interesting, entertaining, terrifying and so on. Life is full of ups and downs; therefore having a light-hearted attitude is important because it might make a change in life. Lastly, I would like to end my speech with the statement of --- Life is a perpetual “roller coaster ride”.
