Persuasive Speeches on Monday! (batch 1)

First of all was the legendary Kirubanaathan Asogan, who talked about E-learning and its benefits. His speech was really good and he was clear while presenting his arguments and trying to persuade the audience. He was a little nervous and walked around a lot, but he sounded confident, which covers up the fact that he's nervous.

The next presenter was Jessine, who spoke about making money out of blogs. She was persuasive in the fact that blogs should not be a place used to make money. She was loud and clear, and her points made sense.

Sarene's topic about Mandarin being the future international language, was based on good research. She was a little nervous with a few pauses in between but was able to carry on with the speech.

Cecilia was really loud and clear in being persuasive and we all got the message. Her topic was about the emphasizing of English in the education field, and it was a good speech but she touched her fringe a lot, lol.

Chea talked about the effects of cartoons on children's attitudes. She had good facts from her research and talked clearly enough to be understood. As I recall, there was a little humour in there as well.

Michelle Wong's topic about non-verbal communication was interesting as she made it lively with her body language, representing her topic, as well as her vivid expressions. She was also clear with her words.

Yika spoke about metal song lyrics and the effects is has on us, that even if it seems detrimental, it is actually promoting positive things and preventing suicide. She was quite clear in her presentation and even had presenting materials.

Hadi spoke of the local film industry and how its progressing over the years. It made a lot of sense and was interesting though he was not very full of expression.

Su Ann's topic regarding eating disorders being related to the media was interesting and backed up by good research material but not so expressive as well.

Mindy had spoke of the Blackberry phenomenon, where its becoming more of a trend than a need or want. People are starting to conform and therefore getting these smartpones even not knowing how to use one. Her presentation was clear and factual.

Aaron had spoke of behaving differently in different situations. This is a very true fact as people cannot act with their boss the same way they act amongst friends. He was also very clear in delivering his points.

Christy had spoken of racism and how the media portrays different races in stereotypes. Her presentation was fast but loud, though people who are slow might not be able to catch.
